28 January - 1 February in Davos, Switzerland 

For the week of the World Economic Forum, snow sculptures were designed by a group of  Artists from Harbin (China) in Davos. With this event, the Global Risk Forum GRF Davos wants to make way for a bigger snow art festival in Davos in future and wants to draw attention to the issue of climate change. 

The event was a joint venture between Global RIsk Forum GRF Davos, Harbin Travel Bureau, Destination Davos Klosters and Hotel Schatzalp Davos.  With out all this support the event would not have been a reality.

Harbin, a city with 10 million inhabitants in the Northeast of China, is renown for its annual „Snow and Ice Festival“, featuring over 2000  sculptures.

In the past years, the Global Risk Forum GRF Davos has increasingly worked together with the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). Since last November, GRF is represented in Harbin with the GRF Asia Research Center, with Prof. Wang Shaoyu as its director. To mark this cooperation a group of snow artists from HIT visited Davos during WEF and built several snow sculptures. The delegation was led by the director of the Harbin Tourism Bureau, Mrs Yang Jie.
