Dealing with Disasters International Conference was hosted by Northumbria University on November 23- 24, 2010. The conference programme was broad and brought together many people from the academic, practitioner and policy worlds, including a few from a high level of office. A key aim of this year’s programme was to focus on ten years of progress in linking disaster and development and to prioritise for the next ten years.
The focus therefore involved exploring and highlighting aspects of resilience, response, investigation and recovery strategies for dealing with environmental, economic and socially related disasters, nationally and internationally.
